SDG Compact Logo In 2025, PASA became a signatory to the United Nations SDG Publishers Compact, joining publishers and publishing associations around the world in supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals. As a signatory, PASA has committed to taking practical steps to reduce the publishing industry’s environmental impact, to raise awareness of the SDGs among our members, and to report on our progress each year. This is a long-term commitment. We are starting with the basics — understanding our own footprint, building a clearer picture of the South African publishing industry through our annual survey, and sharing what we learn — before setting any targets.
